For the 2020 Tokyo Olympic and Paralympic Games and in the lead-up to Paris 2024, the City of Paris wanted to create and install a public viewing and celebration site at Place du Trocadéro. Alongside live screenings of the Tokyo Games, the venue hosted a wide range of events throughout the summer, including the FIBA 3x3 EuroBasket, Red Bull Paris Conquest, the Hyper Festival, archery activites, Paralympic events, celebrations welcoming home the French medallists from Tokyo, the closing ceremony of the Tokyo Games broadcast and the Olympic flame handover. As part of this project, which followed an ISO 20121 sustainable event management approach, FL Structure installed a 3,300 m² platform. The platform was adapted and reconfigured throughout the summer to accommodate the succession of events. For the closing event and to host the FIBA EuroBasket, the platform was fitted with a 22 x 20-metre Mega Tower structure, topped with a dome roof.
